  • Hey there, Great tutorial! I'm looking into possibly doing this to maybe setup a private RTMP streaming server for (I guess) production streams for my Patreons as a perk. I already have a hefty Media server (has Plex, Nextcloud, etc on it) and fiber connection with around 800Mbs Up/800Mbps Down average and occasionally game stream via OBS at 6000kbps as my bitrate. I've been using restream.io as well, but I wanted to know since we're still inside our network and essentially talking to each streaming destination ourselves instead of through restream.io, how much of a negative effect does it cost you in both bandwidth and server resources? It's pretty easy for me to fire up a new virtual instance and get NGINX installed on it, but just wanted to know if it's a good idea in the long run, or would something like an EC2 or Digital Ocean droplet be a better (yet possibly costly) solution. Thanx!
